That's sound good Sarah. But at the moment I have nothing to swap. All my plants are just 3 day old seedlings transplanted into a bed. Thanks for the tomatoes advise I will water sparingly. I never heard of the molasses tip but will use that too. I intend to be in this for the long haul so very happy to swap when I am in a better position to do so.

Hi, I have just created my first 4ftx 4ft planter bed at the end of my garden and planted my first kale, spinach and lettuces! I also bought 2 tomato plants and I'm not 100% sure what I am meant to do with them as I don't have a greenhouse, but TG for YouTube and Charles Dowding. Any advise for newbies welcome.

On the tomatoes, I attempted to grow them a few years ago outside without much success. But if was a very wet summer so if this heat continues it could be a great year for them! Pots with lots of space sounds good, mine were overcrowded and got diseased in the end. Lots of sun & apparently not too generous with the water either if you want sweet tomatoes. Molasses feed when the fruit appear to help make them sweeter again.
That’s great! I have raised beds 3 years now and really enjoy growing a few veg. You can’t beat fresh salad from the garden! I have been looking for some people to share seedlings / seeds etc with locally and who know a bit about veg gardening too. If anyone interested we could arrange a socially distanced plant swap?
Hi Susan, wasn't sure this group was still active. Good luck with your veggies. I have beetroot, carrots & parsley growing from seeds. They are coming on well & I have them outdoors & just water them when I think it's needed! I have one tomato plant that I have in a big pot outdoors. I already have 2 flowers on them so very excited about that! This is my first time to grow vegs in years! So good luck to both of us. Slán Trish.
Quickcrop is a fantastic site Sarah, thanks for the recommendation. I have to build a second raised bed as I have seriously overplanted with Kale and Spinach in the first and need to thin them out.
No worries once you’re up and running could be good 😀 quickcrop.ie have some good videos too on growing lots of different veg in Ireland. Peas have been one of my favourite things to grow so far. Best of luck with it!
