Welcome to the WeCount "Rathfarnham" Project on ChangeX, a sub-project of WeCount, supported by Microsoft under the Dublin Community Challenge program. "Rathfarnham" refers to one possible delivery area, but the final location will be defined by the project group.
The objective of this project is to implement one or more pair(s) of a We-Count traffic sensor (Raspberry Pi based kit, available pre-assembled from Gotron) and a Smart Citizen environmental sensor kit (available from Seeed).
What we are expected to do:
- Reunite a group of 5 participants
- Meet to discuss the details of the project
- Receive 1st part of the grant
- Buy the sensors online
- Meet to plan the installation
- Install the sensors kit
- Spread the information on their availability to interested groups
- Report the outcomes of the project
What commitments we need:
- Availability for 4-5 online meetings over the next 3-4 months, to be scheduled in agreement with everybody. One face-to-face meeting at least for physical installation.
- Interest in the subject of the project (technologies involved, environment, city planning)
What you don't need to worry about:
- You don't need to be a tech expert, most of the technical side is already done
- You don't need to invest money, we have a small but enough grant support already
- You won't need too much time, nor getting involved in a big project, this is a limited, objective task, a good start to making a difference to the community doing something smart and interesting.
