People join Pods to support one another and work together to spread the message of plant-based nutrition in their communities, as well as have fun and build friendships. Pod members may choose to educate others in their community on the connections of a plant-based lifestyle to our health, the environment, farming, animal welfare, and food and health inequities. The Pod Network enables people and organizations that have worked separately in the past to come together around the unifying idea of plant-based nutrition. Pods can use the PlantPure Nation film, community-building online tools and events, and other resources in their outreach efforts.
PlantPure Communities (PPC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to empower individuals to build healthy, kind, sustainable communities. To that end, the organization supports the PPC Pod Network, a grassroots movement of independent groups (“Pods”) providing support to people committed to a plant-based diet, while also enabling them to promote the benefits of a WFPB lifestyle in their local communities.
As of 2022, over 250,000 people are participating in Pods across 36 countries. To support the Pods, PPC has created a series of virtual Campaign Toolkits focused on vegfests, dining out, healthy school lunches, helping friends and loved ones transition, gardening, and more. Pods choose what interests them and the toolkits provide the roadmap. In addition, PPC offers webinars, networking hours, and individual support for Pod leaders. Join us today!

For the month of February we gathered local business owners and organizations to give classes on how to cook with your garden harvest. We had four amazing events that featured Companion Planting for Salsa and Sauce Gardens, Cooking with Oyster Mushrooms, Ayurvedic (Intentional) Cooking, and a Nopal Workshop. Each class used a portion of our garden to plant, harvest or demonstrate their curriculum. We had an amazing turn out and different community members for each class. This is fantastic because we feel like the free classes really helped to get the word out about the gardens and how special a place it is. We plan to facilitate more garden work days and hold classes of a similar theme for next month.
Action plan:
Timeline: We'd love to start in February, kicking off with some wellness/culinary classes.
Budget: The plan will be to get some stainless steel demo tables and projecter/screen set for the classroom.
Impact: community members and potential will have free access to workshops and demos happening in the garden.
Location: The Eagles Nest at Tecolote
