Proof of construction on A Place To Talk.
This project a Place to Talk has made a great impact on the eastside community of San Antonio. This place has allowed corner vendors the opportunity to sell their product and merchandise without having negative engagement with law enforcement.
We plan on starting construction July 15, 2022. We have a Covid-19 action plan that is outlined by the City of San Antonio for public gatherings.
This parklet will impact the community by decreasing the negative confrontations law enforcement and hustling citizens who are merely selling their merchandise in order to survive. A Place To Talk will provide a safe environment for merchants and sellers to patronize without any negative outcomes.
90% of the funding will go towards building material cost and the other portion will be used for accessories and display objects.
The location of the parklet will be at the Civil Rights Botanical Garden. We have permission from the land owner to construct the parklet, Elder Otis Thomas.
We have finalized all plans and phases of the construction to date of operation.
We have implemented a strict covid-19 protocol based upon the city's guidelines for gatherings. Our potential start date is July 20, 2022. The impact we hope for is to get individual entrepreneurs who sell their merchandise on corners to utilize the marketplace to sell and promote their merchandise. This will decrease a potential altercation between law enforcement and hustling citizens.

We have had our first meeting and now we are just waiting on the funds to start building our parklet.
The funding that we will receive will be spent 100% on building materials in order to provide a very safe and adequate place to discuss mental issues outdoors. The theme of this parklet will represent peace of mind and tranquility. Our team will be the builders of this project. I am a contractor therefore this project will look very nice and be professionally constructed.
