The Idea
Playworks helps kids to stay active and build valuable social and emotional skills through play. Playworks creates inclusive environments for play and physical activity both within and beyond the school day to build empathy, increase learning and improve behavior, with research showing essential benefits to child development, an improved school climate and more focused students. Through a suite of resources and training, Playworks provides teachers with play strategies, games and group management techniques to teach children how to play well together, share, resolve conflicts and develop leadership skills. Recess becomes a more active and inclusive experience for all kids.
In partnership with teachers, principals, and parents, Playworks builds a culture of play that enables kids to feel a real sense of belonging and have the opportunity to contribute on the playground, in the classroom, and into their communities.
