Our first formal meeting January 9, 2019 of the Men's Shed of Bellingham (MSOB) as a program of the Whatcom Council on Aging (WCOA) was a major success! We had 32 men attending with 21 first timers !
We introduced our new application process and collected 22 apps, including the Interests & Team survey. Our first group project will be to build a 20ft display console for rotating art displays in the hallway of the Bellingham Senior Activity Center (BSAC) building. We can use some help designing and constructing this display. If interested, contact our project coordinator, Stu at "[email protected]"
Our Leadership Team has been meeting to work on our Mission Statement, Application forms, Dues structure and Community Projects. Gary has connected with the Bellingham Opportunity Council to see how our Men's Shed can help with their CHORE program by building several wheelchair ramps for those in need of assistance. We anticipate that our Project Organizer, Stu will be asking the club who of you has the desire and abilities to help with this community building project.

Our Steering Committee has met and decided to move ahead with our formation activities. We are developing plans, membership application, mission statement, and a dues structure.
Our Next meeting is Friday November 9, at 12:30PM at the Lake Padden Golf Course - Cafe. Come join us for lunch and discussions.
Great First Organizing meeting held at the Bellingham Senior Center September, 12. We had 16 interested guys show up. Discussed how a Men's Shed would work here in Bellingham had lots of questions. Eleven of those attending for the first time signed up to continue their involvement with our start-up efforts. That makes 22 guys willing to go ahead with making the Bellingham Men's Shed a reality.
Also of note: the Senior Center agreed to help sponsor or efforts long term.
