Location: Remote (located in Latin America)
Role Status: Full-time permanent role
Remuneration: Competitive salary, negotiable based on experience and location (approx. $40,000 – $70,000 plus benefits)

With our support, sustainability ideas like Grow it Yourself, Ecosystem Restoration Communities, Precious Plastic Workspaces, Open Orchard and Repair Café are being adopted by communities across the world. As the climate crisis deepens, we need to quickly make proven climate solutions easily accessible to communities across the world, with the resources to get them started.
So far, almost 30,000 community projects have started through ChangeX, scaling 200 innovations and benefitting over one million people.
Our business model is called Impact as a Service. We make it easy for funders to invest in the innovations they want to spread in regions they care most about. Our partners include Microsoft, the LEGO Foundation, Service Now, PwC, Amazon Web Services and Paramount.
This Role: This is a full-time position at the core of our impact team working closely with internal and external teams and accountable to the Innovations Lead. You can also expect regular interaction with several other ChangeX team members, including the product and partnerships teams.
Your role as Climate Development Lead will include:
- Expanding ChangeX’s portfolio of impactful and scalable innovations, focusing primarily on climate, environmental, and sustainability-related ideas, with potential inclusion of other areas based on interest and expertise.
- Sourcing globally relevant ideas, especially from Latin America, ranging from grassroots, hyper-local projects to larger impact climate initiatives.
- Running a search and selection process to find climate-themed innovations including:
- Nominator outreach
- Desk/industry research
- Facilitating qualifying and exploratory calls
- Working with funding partners to understand strategic objectives and curate suggested portfolios of innovations in response
- Presenting proposed climate innovations and rationales to global funding partners
- Onboarding selected innovations onto ChangeX through:
- Introducing the ChangeX platform
- Translating existing innovation implementation plans into packageable solutions for communities
- Developing robust metrics for selected innovations to report upon
- Populating necessary internal information related to the innovation
- Managing a growing global community of climate innovators, supporting them to design grassroots scaling strategies, package their innovation for replication and grow their impact through the ChangeX platform
- Building and managing a pipeline of local, regional and international partnership prospects that could fund our Climate Action program in Central America and other thematic programs/funds that ChangeX could implement around Latin America
- Contributing to the design and development of a robust measurement and evaluation system for climate innovations on ChangeX
- Capturing learnings from the community of climate innovators on ChangeX and working closely with the ChangeX product team to ensure that the technology platform is optimised for social innovator needs.
We are looking for people* who have:
- A demonstrated commitment to community-driven change and a deep understanding of environmental and climate related issues
- 6+ years of experience working in climate action or environmental sustainability
- Experience in partnership development, with demonstrated track record of success in building and managing partnerships with companies, foundations and non-profits
- Fluent Spanish and English speakers (Portuguese a plus)
- Experience and network in Latin America
- Passion for scaling ideas that work
- High social and emotional intelligence and strong team player
- Focused and disciplined
- An entrepreneurial / intrapreneurial track record
- Strong empathy and ethical fibre
