Athlone Poetry in the Park

Athlone

Poetry in the Park is a community poetry gathering who meets monthly  at 2pm on the first Sunday of every month  in Burgess Pk, Athlone .  It is a free community gathering that invites all those interested in poetry to come along, read outside in nature , share a poem or simply listen to poetry recitals and celebrate a love of the written or spoken word.  Poetry in the Park idea is inclusive to all ages; all abilities . ( Children/vulnerable adults must be accopanied by an adult).

Poetry can be in any language, and everyone is welcome to share their poetry or just to come along and listen!

Our 4 Community Poetry books 1,2,3,4. feature poems from those aged 3 years old to 93 years young.

Poetry in the Park has two main aims:

To bring poetry outdoors into various communities to adults and children through a range of actions, mediums and environments which challenges people's perceptions about poetry, how it is delivered and how we can relate to it.

To be inclusive for all, all ages, races, abilities.
