This curriculum consists of 12 60-minute sessions (classes). The length and number of sessions can be changed to suit the needs of the school or organization. When participating in the regional tournament held every December, it is necessary to set aside time to concentrate and practice before the tournament.

Class packs include equipment, materials and tournament entry fees for 12 to 18 people.

  • LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Basic Set x 3 Sets A basic robot set that can be built with motors, sensors and colorful LEGO blocks.

  • FLL explorer set x3
    ・This is a mission model set exclusively for FLL Exlpore. It consists of a tournament mat and Lego blocks.

  • Class Pack Guide (for instructors) x1
    ・A manual for holding FLL competitions/presentations at schools and organizations.

  • 3 Team Meeting Guides (for instructors) - Lesson plans for planning and conducting 12 sessions (classes) and holding a final presentation.
    - Includes learning objectives, teaching tips, cleanup tips, and a checklist for tracking progress.

  • Engineering Notebooks (Student) x1 for each student A team workbook for recording ideas, notes and sketches.
    - The notes provide specific tasks, tips, and points of reflection to help you progress through the 12 sessions.

  • Official Regional Tournament Participation Rights (3 teams)
    - Up to three teams can participate in the official Regional Tournament to be held in December.

  • LEGO® medals x number of students - Medals to be awarded to students at the end of a competition or presentation held by a school or organization.


Prepare a device for programming

The Class Pack does not include any programming devices.
Please provide at least one device (PC/tablet) per group (4-6 people).
Compatible with Windows, iPad, Chromebook, and Android.

Receive a class pack

Once you've received your set of class packs and have prepared your devices for promming, you're almost ready to go.
Check out the equipment in your class pack, read our team meeting guide , and plan your first session.

Take online training

FIRST Japan will provide online training for implementing class packs.
Please decide on a date with a FIRST Japan representative and attend the training.

The training will last approximately 90 minutes and will cover the following:
・Explanation of class pack equipment ・How to proceed with activities ・Instructor's mindset ・Explanation of model making ・Explanation of poster making ・Explanation of presentations ・Implementation of presentations ・Explanation of regional competitions
