Welcome to Rooted in Cheyenne! Our mission is to help support a more diverse and resilient urban canopy and cultivate greener, healthier, more livable neighborhoods. As we're all spending more time at home at the moment, we've teamed up with ChangeX to help householders across Cheyenne plant more trees. Find out here how we can support you to plant trees in your neighborhood.

How you can get involved
Through our partnership with ChangeX and the Cheyenne Community Challenge, supported by Microsoft, we want to make it easier for more people to plant trees in their neighborhood. At this time of social distancing, it's difficult to engage in community tree planting events but each of us can plant one or two trees on our public right-of-ways or boulevards and encourage our neighbors to do the same. You can apply here to get two free trees and the support you need to plant them. Together, we can cultivate greener, healthier and more livable neighborhoods right across the city.
The Benefits
There are so many benefits to planting more trees including reducing energy costs for home owners, increasing property value, controlling stormwater run off, decreasing carbon emissions and boosting neighborhood health and connectivity. Let's ensure that as many Cheyenne citizens as possible can experience these benefits.
Time:
It'll take a couple of hours to plant your trees and look after them over time.
Here you'll find the information you need to plant trees on your public right-of-way or boulevard. Rooted in Cheyenne will provide appropriate trees, help you plant and support you with the ongoing maintenance of trees.
