Boromi Play Library - Marine Academy

Plymouth

Boromi's Play Library brings award-winning, evidence-based early years education directly to families through your school setting. This innovative system empowers parents to support their children's language and communication development through structured play at home.

The initiative addresses the critical need for quality home learning experiences that complement classroom education. It's designed for primary schools, nurseries, and early years settings wanting to strengthen family engagement and improve children's developmental outcomes.

Your Play Library operates on a simple borrowing system: families take home carefully curated play bags filled with activities, games, and resources designed by early years experts. Each bag focuses on specific developmental areas including language, communication, and social-emotional skills.

The community benefits include enhanced parent-child bonding, improved school-home partnerships, increased parental confidence in supporting learning, and measurable improvements in children's language development. Schools report stronger family engagement and more confident parents who understand how to support their child's learning journey.

As part of this project, you'll receive comprehensive training, ongoing support, termly bag rotations, launch event guidance, and access to Boromi's proven framework that has won multiple education awards.

Action plan:

Timeline: September 2024. We will meet every term. After any Inclusion reviews we can reasses which children we are targeting.

Budget: We will use this money to purchase the Boromi packs - 8 packs per term across the year.

Impact: In supporting our families to interact and engage with their children. It will support families in knowing how to play with their children, therefore hopefully improving speach and language and communication skills with our youngest children, before starting Primary school. We want to gain positive feedback and see our disadvantaged famillies accessing these play resources. We want 8 familes per week to access the resource. We want to inform our families about the importance of play and high waulity interactions with their children.

Location: No physical space is needed.
