Welcome to Poetry in the Park! Poetry has the power to bring together and unite so many different people in our community that otherwise may not have met. Poetry as a medium for community engagement has the capacity to change people's lives, and as an art form is vital to developing social capital for the community across all ages, races and abilities.

Poetry in the Park is a poetry group that holds monthly meetings in a local park on the first Sunday of every month. Tid: At the start you will need to give 1-2 hours a week to get the word out in your community and from then on just a couple of hours on the first Sunday of every month.

This 5 step guide will show you how to start a free, inclusive Poetry in the Park group in your area, to bring poetry outdoors and into your community. We hope to spread the Poetry in the Park idea to every town across the US and we'll provide plenty of support to you along the way!
