1

Find your partners in play

Recruit people from your school community to support your Play Library implementation. Focus on identifying play champions such as your headteacher, early years lead, classroom teachers, or engaged parents who understand the value of family learning.

Share Boromi's ChangeX page, resources, and website with potential team members so they can learn about the initiative and commit to supporting its success. Consider including parent volunteers who can help promote the programme and encourage other families to participate.

2

Have a call with us

You’ve got your project action plan ready to go, you’ve unlocked the funding… what now?

Now the fun starts! We’ll book a 1:1 onboarding call with you to cover:

    1. Your Play Library delivery date
    2. How to launch and manage your Play Library
    3. Impact measurement
    4. Shared resources and materials
    5. Any questions

This call will be approximately 30-45 minutes and ideally take place over Microsoft Teams

3

Shout about play

There’s no need to wait until your Play Library launch to get the excitement building. We’ll provide you with a folder of resources and materials (posters, videos, social posts etc) that you can use to start sharing about the importance of play and your upcoming Play Library with your families over the holidays!

4

Launch your Play Library

After your Play Library arrives, we’ll support you to host your family launch event. Launch events look different for every school and we’ll help you to launch in a way that works best for you and your families (i.e. a coffee morning, stay and play session, virtual meeting, drop and play or shared videos).

5

PLAY!

Your Play Library is up and running, great work!

Now it’s time to enjoy:

  • Nurturing and establishing your borrowing rhythm (we recommend 2-3 days per borrow)
  • Encouraging families to share photos/ stories/ feedback of their play
  • Promoting play with families

The Boromi team are here to help with questions, ideas or suggestions, every step of the way. Happy playing!

About Boromi Play Library

"A new term and a new set of Boromi bags and the excitement is tangible in the classroom! Our Play Library gives parents a wide range of vocabulary to use when encouraging positive play. Both pupils and parents love taking home the Boromi bags and this increased parental engagement and extended play time with children is definitely having an impact on children’s language skills. It’s lovely to see the pride and big smiles as the children carry their bags to and from school!"
