Founded in 2013, Precious Plastic is an open source plastic recycling project. The project is
an ‘alternative plastic recycling system’, endeavouring to make it possible for individuals and communities to recycle plastic on a local scale.

More than that, should you be successful in accessing the funding, we will connect you with a local Precious Plastic expert in your country. They will guide you through the process, help you source the necessary machinery, train you in the recycling methods, and ensure you're equipped for success. For projects across Japan, you'll be connected to Precious Plastic Karatsu.
How to get involved
Time:
It should take you 4-6 weeks to get your Precious Plastic Workspace up and running. Thereafter the time commitment is up to you and what you have capacity and interest for. It will depend on the routine processes you've decided on, how much plastic you're aiming to recycle, and what products you'll be creating with your recycled plastic.
