Connecting people with fun & creativity through Murals for Communities brings joy to the places that we live, work and play. It's amazing to see all ages and abilities coming together through public art, especially when murals are created in forgotten spaces.

Murals for Communities brings communities together through the medium of mural art. It provides a way for communities, particularly those experiencing social disconnection, to connect and develop through playful, thoughtful, inclusive creativity. Public art projects provide a platform for people of all ages to contribute to the celebration, colour and visual representation of their community, to learn new skills and to have fun.
Mural art has been spreading fast into public spaces across the globe, getting praise for reconnecting and inspiring people wherever it goes. This methodology provides steps to approach and connect with groups of all ages in an authentic way to produce visual murals in their locality.
This approach can be used in both rural and urban settings. It works well with placemaking activities and best when a partnership is made between local government, artists and community,
"Being involved in Murals for Communities in Waterford City helps us feel like we are playing a meaningful role in the community. It inspires and motivates us to open more doors."
- James O'Halloran, community representative
