Time

The project lasts 3 months in total; with 3 sessions (60 min each) of virtual training in the methodology prior to the start of the project and 3 virtual sessions (60 min each) of accompaniment during implementation by Colectivo tomate. These sessions will be coordinated to fit the work of your organization.

Once you have successfully completed the ChangeX 30-day challenge, you will be contacted by the people at Colectivo Tomate. First they want to meet with you, find out who will be participating and find out why you are interested in working with children, your experience and meet the team that will be carrying out the idea. They want to know how much time you will be dedicating, he number of people and get to know what the group of children you work wit,  this is extremely important for the development of the idea; It is recommended that they be girls and boys from 6 to 13 years old.

Once Colectivo Tomate has this information, they will organize themselves to agree on the date and time of the training they are carrying out online, as well as all the materials that will be shared prior to the activities that are going to be carried out.

Collective Tomate is going to share with you the list of materials that you are going to use and a manual so that you can familiarize yourself with the methodology.

Now is the time to attend the trainings. These sessions will be online and in created in a personalized way to answer questions about digital storytelling and story development.

During these 3 sessions we are going to learn about some topics such as: character creation, developing guiding questions for the narration and strategies to translate them into animation.

Now yes, all the learning is time to put it into practice. During this step, the organization will facilitate workshops and activities in a playful way to work with the group of children. A group of between 5 and 10 girls and boys is recommended. Here is the opportunity to create safe spaces so that they can express themselves and give their opinion freely. It is always important that you consider that you must have some approval from tutors.

We will need to schedule the dates on which you will develop the workshop and previously verify that you have all the necessary materials prior to the workshop. Finally you will be able to make the final production of the video as the final result.

Don't worry, if you still have doubts, we will have three accompaniment sessions for doubts related to the production of the video, the creation of characters, or any other that you may have.

Last step, it's time to share the video with the group so they can see what they did collectively and give them time to express their opinions. If they want, they can present it to the community, but don't forget that it must first be agreed upon with the children who participated in the video.

Finally, remember that it is very important to respect the rights of children and there are various ways such as play and art! Now is your opportunity to give continuity to the appropriation and care of this space together with your team or community.
