Women's Vocational & Entrepreneurship Training

Women's economic empowerment requires more than technical skills—it demands entrepreneurial confidence, financial knowledge, and market access that traditional training often overlooks. This programme takes a comprehensive approach to vocational training by integrating practical tailoring skills with business fundamentals and financial literacy, creating complete pathways from skill acquisition to sustainable income generation.

Designed for women aged 18–45 from underserved communities, particularly first-time earners or those seeking income opportunities, the 12–20 week programme combines hands-on practical sessions with classroom learning. Participants master core tailoring competencies including basic stitching techniques, cutting patterns, complete garment construction, and alterations, whilst simultaneously developing entrepreneurial capabilities in pricing strategies, customer handling, and small business setup, plus financial literacy covering savings practices, budgeting methods, and basic income tracking.

Communities benefit from increased household incomes as women establish earning capacity, strengthened women's economic empowerment and decision-making power, enhanced skill development in local areas creating ripple effects, and promotion of self-reliance and entrepreneurship that transforms community economics. Participants work with 1 Million for 1 Billion (1M1B), a United Nations-accredited organisation that has skilled over 800,000 young people across India, which provides programme delivery, training materials, business development support, and connections to market opportunities that enable graduates to start home-based businesses, secure employment, or earn through custom orders and local markets.
