Register with Music Will

Check out our website for upcoming Music Will workshops, offered either in-person in your community or online through live virtual courses. First-time Music Will teachers must complete a Modern Band 101 workshop before they can register for elective courses. Please email our friendly team at [email protected] if you have any questions about workshop offerings or need any assistance.

2

Complete the Training

Attend a Modern Band 101 workshop

Now that you’re signed up, it’s time to complete Music Will’s introductory Modern Band 101 workshop. This course covers the basic values of our teaching philosophy: getting our students into a comfort zone so they can unlock their inner music-maker. Participating teachers are introduced to the instruments of modern band and will learn the basics of guitar, keyboard, drums, vocals, bass, and technology.

Buy In from School Principal

Complete the Principal Consent Form

Following the successful completion of a Modern Band 101 workshop, Music Will provides you with a form for your principal or arts administrator to complete. This form indicates their permission for you to offer a modern band program at least one day per week at your school site and can receive free instruments from Music Will. Having your school’s support is essential to the long-term impact of your modern band classroom!

4

Register the class

Share Student Numbers and Request Instruments

After receiving your completed Principal Consent Form, Music Will provides you with credits to order a complimentary set of instruments based on the needs of your classroom, (e.g. do you want every student to have a guitar; do you want to build out a full band with different types of instruments?)

At this time, Music Will sends you a brief survey requesting the number of students and the grade levels you serve. This helps us understand the impact your classroom is having!

5

Make Music

Rock On!

Start making music with your students! Our online classroom is a great place to find resources to help your students play their favorite songs. New songs are added regularly!

We encourage teachers to find opportunities for their modern band students to showcase their work, such as participating in schools’ winter and spring concerts or other school functions.

Enjoy making music with your students and learning more about the music that interests them

About Little Kids Rock

"The formula is simple. The opportunity for my students to perform in front of others and share their feelings through original music has literally transformed their lives and their opinion of themselves. My students and I are deeply indebted to the generosity and nurturing support of the Music Will organization."
