Anyone in any environment can learn about common tools, materials, hardware and electronics. Prior experience not required! Let's Make Stuff Move!

At Make Stuff Move, we are working to help provide students in all classrooms with engaging hands-on learning experiences. To do this, we have created reusable kits and lessons bridging Skilled Trades and STEM. The primary focus is to ensure educators will not need any additional materials, prior experience, or a "shop" environment to deliver these important skills.

Also, coding and computers are not required...at first. This means our kits can be used anywhere and keep the initial experience focused on building hands-on skills and confidence. Once students and teachers have had a chance to build some of the projects without the initial requirement to code, they can dive into coding in a fun approachable way.

The integration of the Make Stuff Move kits into the Toronto Catholic District School Board's (TCDSB) digital innovation hub has significantly enhanced the learning experience for K-12 students. These kits have provided a hands-on, interactive approach to learning, bridging the gap between STEM and trades education. By incorporating real tools, materials, and hardware, students have been able to engage in creative and technological projects that foster both their cognitive and motor skills. The kits have allowed students to explore robotics and engineering concepts in a fun and engaging way, making learning more tangible and exciting. This initiative has not only improved system stability but also enriched the educational environment by offering diverse learning opportunities that cater to various interests and abilities.
