In addition to being awarded funding, every applicant that applies to start or expand an idea in their community will receive a range of supports including:

• A starter guide for your chosen project


• Free tech tools & website to help get your project started and manage your group


• Advice & support via email & Zoom

The Nickelodeon Our World US Community Fund is open to existing groups and individuals (once they form a team) to start new projects in their community. The project must take place in the US and all projects must involve active leadership and engagement of kids.

You can choose to select from the portfolio of ideas on the ChangeX site or you can apply to start or expand your own project.

If you're applying with an existing or new project, it must meet the following criteria:

• Kids must be actively involved in the selection, design, leadership and activation of the project.


• The project should have the potential (with support) to be replicated by young people in other communities.


• The project should address a social or environmental issue that the kids involved are passionate about.

There is a total fund of $125,000 available to help support young people lead community projects across the US. Each applicant who successfully completes a 30 Day Challenge and an Impact Challenge will receive funding to help get their selected project off the ground.

• Scheduling a 15 min call with one of the ChangeX team


• Recruiting 4 people to join your team


• Hosting a casual kick-off virtual meeting


• Sharing a team photo / video & a short action plan

If you are applying with your own community project, there will be a review process, and those applications that best fit the criteria will be allocated funding. You will then complete a simplified 30 Day Challenge and an Impact Challenge to receive your funding.
