We need to play at taking over public spaces! Children are often confined to indoor and protected spaces because public spaces in the city are not considered suitable for play. This results in children growing up without knowing how to be in public spaces and not being accustomed to interacting with different people. Public spaces allow for healthier and more expansive play areas, especially in dense cities, and their use as a platform for creativity and collectivity promotes social cohesion and encourages a mindful perspective towards our cities and societies. Restricting play only to enclosed and pre-designed spaces limits children's creativity and freedom, restricting their repertoire and autonomy to change and create their environment. That's why we invite you to create your own Action (Play) Box and activate the potential of your city to be a space for play, and engage your community in the playful transformation of it.
