Natural Heritage Guardians

Hypatia is a civil association founded by internationalists, and for more than 12 years we have been working on our World Heritage Education Program, which focuses on innovation, visiting World Heritage sites and elements, and communication. These three elements have allowed us to integrate a series of experiences and projects, which are nourished by key pieces such as identity, participation, or a shared international vision. In addition to the cultural sites themselves, such as historic centers, archaeological zones or modern architecture, World Heritage has this component of natural sites, which at the same time has the advantage of its exceptional universal value, and the sensitivity of being susceptible to problems such as global warming, wildlife, and our very survival as a human species.
An educational focus on natural heritage means taking advantage of this diversity and creating, from it, tools that promote the revolution of consciences, and encourage personal and social action. Regarding emerging issues such as action against climate change, or thinking about people whose natural environments are threatened by melting ice, or more prolonged droughts, they make the call to action propitious, and therefore, the term Guardians of Heritage. , is used to guide this concept, and turn it into a vector for the participation of children and young people.
