Welcome to SubClubs! Schools need your help and SubClubs are here to help you answer the call. People who come together to form a SubClub not only enjoy working with children or adolescents, they also have a sense of adventure and thrive in unpredictable environments. They also need to have the schedule flexibility that will allow them to work as substitute teachers at least a few days a month. So not just your average Joe or Joanne! We believe these people, people like you - deserve quality training, development, connection and recognition for the work that they do and Sub Clubs are the place to receive it. Think Staff Room meets Training Room meets Chat Room and everyone is welcome.

Schools need a back-up team of caring adults who can step in when teachers need to be away from their classroom. Today we call those people substitute teachers and schools across the country desperately need more of them. SubClubs bring together people willing to answer the call to keep our schools open. Together, SubClub members support each other as they figure out how to get hired and learn how to do the job. Substitute teaching is an adventure and SubClubs provide a space to make meaning of your experiences, laugh together, and get ready to do it all again. SubClubs are supported by Substantial Classrooms, a nonprofit dedicated to unlocking the potential of substitute teaching, and get access to online training through SubSchool.
The course material and the support was outstanding. I now have something at my fingertips, I’ve gotten started. I don’t have the same fear or misconceptions of what substitute teaching will be like- that I’ll be on my own. Because I’m not.
