STEAM In A Box is a series of curriculum-linked programmes for upper primary school kids - to inspire them to love science, while engaging their creativity, curiousity & give them career aspirations!
Designed for 5th & 6th class age-group, taught by a scientist in year one*, and the teacher in year 2! All resources and teacher training provided!!
Great for teachers who are interested in introducing and integrating STEAM into their classroom and teaching practice while enriching both their students as well as their own STEAM and science knowledge, skills, methods and techniques in particular!
Lessons are all fun, hands on, collaborative and inclusive. Students will get the chance to be creative, work with a range of different materials, experiment and build models and have fun, all while you meet part of your science curriculum requirements!
In year one the students will meet and be taught by a scientist and learn more what science can be for or where you can go with science. [* or if more than one class wants to be involved we can swap for teacher training for multiple classes instead of one class taught by a scientist / scientist might be blended/online depending on circumstances].
In year 2 you (the primary teacher) will teach it yourself (with some training provided by ourselves).
Programmes are also designed to relate to the everyday lives of your students and provide real-world examples and daily uses of science.
All 5 lesson programmes are designed to be taught approx 1 hour a week for 5 weeks.
Resources include lesson plans, materials, training, video support and of course the scientist in the first year!
