Hello all
Can anyone advise me on where I can get lots of apple trees? I know there are lots of places on line but I'm kind of hoping to not have to pay lots of money . Am really keen to get a nice orchard established but am not entirely clued up on it. I have one well established apple tree out the back of the house and have planted some pear, hazel, damson, wild cherry. Keen to have a lot of apple trees. Can anyone out there advise me? Ive not got much money but am willing to work and help people out in return for help or apple trees.

Juicie Jim from GIY Waterford is coming to Galway Libraries this Tuesday 20th of February for a FREE talk and workshop, as part of Healthy Ireland at your library.
Juicie Jim is a Living Food, Foraging and Growing Instructor from Waterford who has been involved with GIY since 2011. He got his name from doing popup juice and probiotic bars and workshops at festivals around the country. He will be in Galway on Tuesday 20th of February to give talks at three libraries as part of the Healthy Ireland at your Library initiative. Jim will talk about GIY and how to easily grow some of your own food. Jim has lots of knowledge to share and has been part of the education team at GROW HQ since it opened in October 2016.
Jim will do a quick workshop in sprouting and fermentation as part of his talk. He will have copies of the new edition of the award winning GROW COOK EAT book by Michael Kelly, ahead of the TV series of the same name which will launch on RTE 1 on March 14th.

Hello Everyone, Paddy here, I met some of you at the last GIY in the cafe. My real na,e is Darren as you can see here but I prefer Paddy(long story). Anyway......sorry if that's confusing...stick to Paddy...
Some of you at this months meeting showed an interest in coming and helping out at the battery heights community garden, I've cleared it with Sheena who runs the resource centre there and we are all welcome to go up and have a go. I'm meeting Patsy Preston there tomorrow to chat about a sculpture she's building and needs a team to help her so il be there until 1pm tomorrow. Failing that I'm there every Tuesday from 9.30am. It seems that the batteries garden is also involved with GIY so I hope to be sourcing some seeds and other bits at some point. Very nice to meet y'all last time , really hope to chat to you all again soon
Very interesting group. I'd hope to attend, being from a horticultural background, and I have a keen interest in organics in General.
