Reimagining Black Liberation. Reclaiming Black Joy.

Juneteenth is a celebration of the ending of slavery in the United States for many Black and Pan-African Communities. Two and ½ years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation, Texas slave owners failed to tell persons they had enslaved that they were free. On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers entered Galveston, Texas, to enforce the new order. Juneteenth was not only a celebration but a movement to apprise formerly enslaved persons their God Given freedom and humanity was at last recognized by law. Furthermore, the Celebration was a gathering for Black people to collectively build power while reimagining their liberation and reclaiming their joy. The Proclamation only recognized the end of slavery, but the abhorent practices of enslaving Black bodies continued for decades. Disproportionate rates of incarceration, intra-community violence, and the healthcare disparities we see today are mere demonstrations of the indelible imprint slavery has left on the Soul of our Nation.

#OreganoOil: Oregano oil contains strong antimicrobial properties and natural chemicals that help fight bacteria in the mouth and prevent tooth decay, gingivitis, and infections.

Had a tooth infection a few years ago and you know the pain that occurs with an exposed nerve.

Well, while amoxicillin takes about 2 weeks to work. A dab and I mean a dab of Oregano oil on a cotton ball killed the bacteria overnight.

Oregano is very very potent and can actually burn your lips or mouth if too much is applied. So I recommend that you use a toothpick or floss pik to test the potency on your tongue prior to any application.

Speaking from experience, it can burn your lips into chapping and the back of your throat😄

I grew up during a time where the Elders Go-To was Nature. Castor oil. Cod liver oil. Dandelion root. Aloe Vera plants. Eucalyptus oil. And a switch (branch from a tree) for that character building Get-Right😄.

Whatever the ails, Nature provided. Now, people get sick and run for chemical synthetic drugs produced in a lab that creates more side effects than the illness itself.

WATER FIRST THING IN THE MORNING: CHEERS💧

Drinking water first thing in the morning flushes out the stomach and therefore balances the lymphatic system. A stable lymphatic system will help build a strong immune system, which will prevent us from getting sick as often.

Drinking a couple glasses of water to allow the body to rehydrate allows for better digestion when you do eat. It also helps with moving the lower bowels for regularity in the mornings.

Drinking water on an empty stomach makes you active. It increases the red blood cells, which means that more oxygen will reach your cells, giving you more energy. Drinking water on an empty stomach can help you lose weight faster.
