Action plan:
Timeline:
When will you be able to start your project? This month.
How often will your team meet? Initially we will meet regularly, including also the school council to ensure that pupil voice is at the centre of what we are doing.
Are there any key dates to share for the project? Hopefully 24th November for the initial round of planting.
Budget:
Planter planting designs, £30 per planter
Plants, £TBC
Additional wooden planters, £TBC
Ongoing support from Growing Spaces, £50 an hour
Impact:
How will your community benefit from this project?
This is a school with very limited outdoor space so the chance to add some life to the space through planting will be a big benefit to everyone. Children, staff and parents use the space all day everyday during term time.
The wider community will benefit because the school playground faces two busy streets so the public will see the space everytime they walk past.
Do you have any measurable goals for your project, such as the number of people that will participate? Are you hoping to spread knowledge or increase interest in a specific subject?
We have 282 pupils and their parents plus 68 staff. There are 5 staff involved in the project team and the school council which comprises 12 pupils. We plan to work with Growing Spaces which is a local community interest company, they have told us that by being involved with them we will be able to showcase our space across the whole borough where we are based (RBKC).
Location:
If your project requires physical space, have you decided the location? Do you have all necessary permission and permits to carry out your project at the chosen location?
The space is our school playground which we own.
