The Idea
The Daily Mile is a simple, all-inclusive initiative which abides by 10 Core Principles in order to remain sustainable and accessible to all. During this time of uncertainty for adults and children alike, we would like to encourage as many people as possible to participate in The #DailyMileAtHome
Maybe your children already did this at school so they may be familiar with the concept but if not here's a little more about it:
The Daily Mile is a social physical activity, with children running or jogging – at their own pace – in the fresh air with friends. Of course, with current restrictions in place to keep everyone safe, The Daily Mile can be carried out inside or in the back garden if necessary. Children can occasionally walk to catch their breath, if necessary, but should aim to run or jog for the full 15 minutes. There’s no set up, tidy up, or equipment required. It helps to improve fitness and achieve a healthy weight and encourages children to be aware of their health. It’s fully inclusive; every child, whatever their circumstances, age or ability, succeeds at The Daily Mile.
