Welcome to Let Grow Play Club on ChangeX. We believe that children learn important skills and life lessons when adults don’t get involved every step of the way. By hosting a Let Grow Play Club at your school or organisation, you can help kids of all ages enjoy unstructured free play outside of regular school hours. We're looking forward to helping you get started!

The youth club has been very successful so far. We have 15 kids from varied backgrounds most weeks involved in the free play activities. Thanks to this funding we have been able to provide this space for these children giving them the opportunity to develop new skills through the free play initiative.

Our Let Grow Play project is to run a youth club for 8 weeks for primary school aged children. We are based in Cully, just outside of Donegal town, Ireland, and are in close proximity to a number of primary schools. The youth club would run for 2 hours per night for 8 weeks and allow for unstructured, free play. We would use the seed money to buy equipment and rent the hall. Currently, there are no formal restrictions for COVID-19 in Ireland, However, we do allow for good ventilation, encourage regular hand washing and hand sanitiser is available at all doors. There is a cleaning rota in place to ensure good hygiene. The community will benefit by coming together and supporting each other. Children will develop many skills through the free play initiative, building their confidence, problem solving skills, reducing stress and forging new friendships along the way. With the equipment children will be able to use their imaginations to create obstacle courses or imaginary worlds to play and entertain themselves. Parents will be able to take a step back and watch their children grow and develop through play.
