Our 30-day Boromi Play Lending Library Challenge was a resounding success, encouraging families to borrow and explore playful learning resources designed to support their child’s development. Over the course of the challenge, families had access to a variety of engaging activities that promoted creativity, problem-solving, and communication through play.

The initiative helped parents discover how simple, everyday play can be a powerful tool for learning, and many shared positive feedback about the quality time they spent with their children. The challenge not only strengthened bonds within families but also highlighted the importance of creating accessible opportunities for playful learning in our community.

We are thrilled with the enthusiasm shown by participants and are excited to continue building on this momentum, ensuring even more families can experience the benefits of the Boromi Play Lending Library in the future.

Thanks to the funding, we successfully launched the Boromi project and brought Learning through Play to life in our community. The funding allowed us to host a dedicated parent event, introducing families to the Boromi resources and showing how these can be used to support their children’s development. This event was instrumental in building excitement and encouraging families to actively engage with the project.

Since launching, we’ve seen a significant impact. Families have embraced the resources, with parents reporting increased confidence in creating playful learning moments at home. Children are more engaged, showing growth in creativity, problem-solving, and communication skills. The project has also strengthened family bonds, as parents and children spend quality time learning and playing together.

Looking ahead, we plan to expand the Boromi project’s reach by hosting more community events and creating additional resources to ensure even more families can benefit. We’re also exploring partnerships with local organizations and schools to build a lasting culture of playful learning in our community.

• Spend the money on a ‘importance of play’ launch event and then a half termly event each half term over the year - parents and families stay and play using the Boromi resources. Introduce the scheme to parents. Themed stay and plays over the year with a play theme eg: stay and sing, stay and sketch, stay and sew, stay and squiggle, stay and stomp.

• Affordability: It provides a cost-effective way for families to access a variety of resources without the need for purchasing them.

The project will support Community Engagement:

• Building Community: A lending library serves as a community hub, bringing together students, parents, and teachers in a shared goal of promoting literacy and learning.


• School Reputation: Offering such a resource enhances the school’s reputation as a center for learning and community support.

The project will act as a Community Resource:

• Extended Access: The play lending library can serve not just students and parents but the wider community, including younger siblings and other family members, fostering a culture of lifelong learning.


• Partnerships: It can create opportunities for partnerships with local organizations, libraries, and businesses to enhance resources and programs.

Measurable goals:

By setting and tracking these measurable goals, the Boromi play lending library can effectively gauge its impact on the school community, make informed adjustments, and demonstrate the value of the program to stakeholders. The project will reach approx. 60 children and each of their families. 

• Surveys and Interviews: Regularly collect feedback from students, parents, teachers, and community members through surveys and interviews.

Increased Parental Engagement

• Goal: Increase the number of parents participating in reading-related school activities by 50% over a year.


• Metric: Attendance records for reading events, workshops, and library usage statistics.

Enhanced Community Engagement

• Goal: Increase community involvement in school events by 50% within a year.


• Metric: Attendance records and feedback from community events.
