ChangeX Launches in Minnesota with 10 Proven Social Innovations

ChangeX has just launched in Minnesota, bringing a range of inspiring innovations to improve the wellbeing of communities throughout the State.

Launching with ten proven innovations, including World Savvy, Girl Trek, Roots of Empathy and Men’s Sheds in Minneapolis, St.Paul, and Greater Minnesota this week, the launch marks our first step in international expansion. Exciting times!

While we’re kicking off initially with ten existing innovations, we aim for these to be the catalyst for growing and driving these community-led efforts across the state.

ChangeX has been focused on the Irish market to date, launching here two years ago and growing month by month. Over the past year, we’ve seen an average growth of 120% per month, with over 1,600 people and teams starting ideas in their communities benefitting more than 40,000 people.

We’re now ready to take our ideas Stateside and are aiming to initially establish 100 replications of the innovations in Minnesota over the coming months, improving the wellbeing of an estimated 3,000 people.

Just some of the innovations we’ll be taking to Minnesota include; World Savvy, which works with students, teachers and leaders to reimagine education in a global context, so that all students can contribute to their communities locally and globally in a more interconnected age.

We’ll also be launching GirlTrek, the inspiring health movement that activates thousands of Black women to be change-makers in their lives and communities through walking. To date, GirlTrek has inspired nearly 75,000 women in 35 states from inactivity to activity, by getting them to commit to a daily habit of walking and has quickly become the go-to public health organization for African-American women and their families.

Another of our innovations, Roots of Empathy is an evidence-based classroom program from Canada that reduces levels of aggression among school children, while raising social/emotional competence and increasing empathy.
